PAP TESTS and CLINICAL BREAST EXAMS will be available on Friday, June 11, from 8:00am to 12 noon. Patty Sprang, nurse practitioner with KnoHoCo will be staffing the clinic. Please contact The Sanctuary for more information regarding fee. Limited funding from the United Way grant may assist with payment of Pap test if you have limited funds.
Women over the age of 18 are recommended to have a yearly Pap test and clinical breast exam. Early cancer detection and treatment is the key to successful recovery. To schedule or more information, please contact The Sanctuary at 740-599-7224.
THE MOBILE MAMMO VAN from Boardman, Ohio will also be at The Sanctuary on Friday, June 11 from 8 am to 2pm. The Mammo Van accepts insurance, Medicare, Medicaid and self pay.
United Way of Knox County has awarded Sanctuary Community Action/The Sanctuary a limited grant to assist with payment of mammograms for ladies who do not have insurance and the $75 self pay fee is a concern for ladies with limited income. The Self pay fee covers all costs—the screening, radiology as well as physician services. If you are 39 years of age, never had a mammogram or need to have the annual screening, please contact The Sanctuary (599-7224) to schedule. Don’t pass up this opportunity to take charge of your personal health.
The mobile van does not require a doctor’s prescription but your insurance may. Please contact your insurance company if you are unsure of their requirements. IMPORTANT: if you are under the age of 39, you must have a doctor’s order. Please note: if you have a situation that is being monitored, have had breast implants or reduction, the mobile unit will not do a screening. You will need to schedule a screening at a medical facility. Please keep in touch with your doctor for follow-up screenings.
If you have not had a Pap or mammogram screening in the past year, now is the time to schedule it in one convenient location. You may have one screening or both screenings.
